The Southeastern Trials Riders Association (STRA) would like to share a brief update regarding the Fun in the Sun event.

This year, Fun in the Sun will be run using a peer-scoring format. Because STRA Championship Series events require a consistent scoring structure across all rounds, this format means the event will not be included as a points-earning round for the STRA Championship Series.

Importantly, Fun in the Sun remains a great event, and STRA fully encourages riders to attend, participate, and enjoy the weekend. This decision is purely related to championship series requirements and does not reflect on the quality of the event, its organizers, or the riding experience.

STRA appreciates everyone’s understanding as we work to maintain consistency and fairness within our championship series, and we look forward to seeing riders at upcoming STRA Championship rounds throughout the season. The 2026 season will now kick off at Rockcrusher Farm on March 21-22.

The 2025 STRA Business Meeting will be held on October 18, 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Pavilion at the TTC.  The purpose of the meeting is to update the status of the STRA to the membership, consider rule changes for 2026 season, discuss plans for the 2026 season, and elect officers and board of directors for 2026. The meeting agenda will follow.

If you have suggestions for rule changes, or other changes for the organization that you would like to propose at the business meeting, please e-mail them to me at president@stratrials.com by 9:00 pm on October 15, 2025.  If you submit items, please plan on attending the business meeting to discuss.  If you don’t attend the meeting, your item will not be considered.  Items not submitted by this date will not be considered at the meeting.

In accordance with our ByLaws, the STRA has a Board of Directors which is made up of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and up to two at large members.   Nominations for all of the officer positions listed above, as well as membership director, competition director and youth director will be accepted.    Feel free to call me at (706) 373-2786 or email me at president@stratrials.com if you would like more information.
